Aunt Dorothy's Banana Bread
This is my "aunt" Dorothy's traditional English banana bread recipe.
- 1 stick of butter
- 1 cup of sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 overripe bananas, mashed with a fork
- 2 cups of flour
- 1/2 a teaspoon of salt
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1/2 a teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 cup of chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1&1/2 tablespoons of milk
Cream together butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and add bananas. Sift flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda & add nuts if desired. Add powder to creamed misture alternately with milk. Spoon into well greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 for an hour.
